BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Lees-McRae College freshman Mike Chambers (Winston-Salem, N.C.) has been named the Male Female Student-Athlete of the Month for November 2013, announced College officials Tuesday.
Chambers has enjoyed a strong start to his collegiate career, leading the Bobcats in scoring through the first month of the season with an average of 17.3 points per game. The Winston-Salem, N.C. native played a pivotal role in the Bobcats’ first 3-0 start as a member of the NCAA, averaging 14 points per game while converting 22-of-26 at the charity stripe. Chambers put together his best performance of the campaign, against No. 24 Livingstone pouring in a game-high 35 points on 10-of-15 shooting and a 12-for-14 night at the free throw line.
The Lees-McRae College Student-Athlete of the Month Award honors one male and one female student-athlete each much from an in-season sport during the 2013-2014 academic year, recognizing their hard work, effort, and athletic performance.
