Inaugural "Meet with Mister" Provides Priceless Knowledge

BANNER ELK, N.C. ---  The first episode of "Meet with Mister" was a success last week as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Keith "Mister" Jennings held his first athletic department town hall meeting in the Bobcat Club Film Room. Each month 'Mister' will bring in coaches and student-athletes to talk about various topics and help continue to promote the comradery of Lees-McRae athletics, but also the experience of intercollegiate athletics.

"Meet with Mister is about helping the student-athletes at LMC by having coaches and athletes share their experiences," said Jennings.

Seniors Erin Barcal (WSOC), Haylee Leonard (WVB), Josh Gaither and Darius Malbon (MBK) shared their stories of their careers here at Lees-McRae. Talking about adversity, success and growth to the crowd gave everyone a chance to experience college athletics from different viewpoints.

Midway through the session, 'Mister' had head women's volleyball coach Will Tatge and head women's basketball coach Michele Williams talk about their college careers. As they shared their ups and downs, the crowd was intrigued to hear their stories of their trials and tribulations.

"I thought the evening and the concept behind 'Meet with Mister' is great! The student-athletes on the panel had a lot of good information to provide. I enjoyed reminiscing about my college days and sharing some of my experiences with the athletes in attendance. I look forward to seeing how big 'Meet with Mister' can grow," said Williams

Next month's "Meet with Mister" will be about "Winning Ways" as strength and conditioning coach Garrett Feimster will talk about healthy habits. The date and time will be announced shortly.
