Travis Stanley named Assistant Sports Information Director/New Media Manager

BANNER ELK, N.C. - Travis Stanley was named Assistant Sports Information Director/New Media Manager at Lees-McRae College on Tuesday (July 16, 2019). Stanley, who is a native of nearby West Jefferson, N.C., will be tasked with assisting Sports Information Director Andy Fisher in all aspects of sports information as well as overseeing Lees-McRae Athletics social media and digital presence.

"Having grown up in the region, I have always been familiar with the Bobcat brand," said Stanley. "I feel extremely blessed to be joining the team here at Lees-McRae. Banner Elk and the college community is a special place and I can't wait to get to work."

Stanley comes to Lees-McRae after spending the past two years working at Western Carolina University where he served as a videographer in the marketing department. While at WCU, Stanley was responsible for producing video content intended for all Catamount social media channels as well as assisting with TV commercials, documentaries, and other video related projects. In addition to his video background, Stanley also served as a photographer when needed at WCU and worked as a freelance photographer while in Cullowhee.

"I feel like we definitely found the right person for this position in Travis," said Fisher. "His experiences in regards to social media and video will help us take our coverage of Bobcat Athletics to a whole other level."

Prior to his time at WCU, Stanley was an undergraduate broadcasting student at Appalachian State University where he graduated in May of 2017. While in school, Stanley was involved with several on campus work opportunities including managing the on campus radio station, WASU, as well as working with the athletic department as a broadcast assistant and producer for AppTV.
