BANNER ELK, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae College men's basketball program is gearing up for their first annual Christmas Canned-Food Drive on Saturday, Dec. 11, in Williams Gymnasium as part of the afternoon's contest against Carson-Newman College.

Fans are encouraged to bring any type of non-perishable food item in exchange for admission into the contest. The items collected during the drive will be donated to Shelter Rock Ministries, located in Foscoe, N.C.

They are a 501-c3 non-profit, interdenominational Christian Ministry dedicated to identifying the poor of Appalachia, and providing them with immediate relief.

Shelter Rock depends totally on the financial support of their partners to carry out their mission to the Banner Elk/Boone area.
