BANNER ELK, N.C. --- In the latest installment of Minute with Mac, Lees-McRae College Director of Athletics Craig McPhail recaps the Bobcats' success at Cycling Road Nationals this past weekend.
The Bobcats jumped out of the gates on Friday, claiming an early lead in the team omnium with a second-place finish by Rachel Warner (Luray, Va.) in the women's road race, as Brian Sheedy (Rockford, Mich.) turned in a fourth-place performance in the men's competition. Lees-McRae maintained its lead following Saturday's team time trials, finishing third in each competition. The Bobcats were unable to keep the lead on Sunday, finishing third in the women's criterium and ninth in the men's race to claim second place in the team omnium. Warner ended the weekend ranked third in the individual omnium, while Sheedy finished fourth on the men's side.
