Lees-McRae College will be hosting a Collegiate Race on September 23rd and 24th, 2006. The Dual Slalom and Downhill Conference Finals will be held along with the Cross Country and Short Track Conference Race.
Schedule of Events
Saturday September 23
Dual Slalom practice from 8 AM to 9:30 AM.
Dual Slalom qualifying runs start at 9:30
Brackets will be announced after qualifying based on number of riders
Downhill practice will begin 30 minutes after Dual slalom
Practice runs will go for one hour
Race begins after practice is over
Two runs per riders using best time
Run has 450 vertical feet of drop
Short Track will start at 3:00 PM(hopefully)
A men 30 minutes
A women 25 minutes
B men 25 minutes
B women 15 minutes
C men 15 minutes
Sunday September 24
Cross Country race 5 mile trail with 500 feet of climbing
Some single track, some pavement, some gravel road
B women 2 laps
C men 2 laps
A men 5 laps
A women 4 laps
B men 4 laps
The complete race venue will be on LMC grounds. Please be respectful of the college property. Please pack out your trash. Trash cans will be supplied for trash at race venues. The downhill run will not have a shuttle to the top. We will try and run a shuttle part of the way up if possible.

Parking will be marked below the softball field off of Hickory Nut Gap road.
As you approach Banner Elk on Hwy 184 you will turn left on Hickory Nut Gap road before you get to the college. The Athletic facility is on the right. Follow signs to parking. If approaching Banner Elk on 194 from Tennessee, you will turn right at the stop light and proceed .5 miles, go past the pond and turn right on Hickory Nut Gap Road.
Registration will begin at 7:00 AM Saturday morning
Lunch will be supplied Saturday afternoon to all racers.
