Cycling Team Finishes Second In USA Cycling Collegiate National Rankings

BANNER ELK, N.C. -- The Lees-McRae College Bobcats cycling team finished just three points shy of the overall Divsion I USA Cycling National Collegiate Championship for the 2009-2010 season.

The rankings combine each school's finish in the four cycling disciplines: track, mountain bike, cyclocross and road.

The Bobcats took second with 72 points, just three points behind first place Fort Lewis with 75 points. However, the Bobcats had a 12-point margin over third place Lindsey Wilson College.

The team finished in second place at Road Nationals, fifth place finish in Track Nationals, second place in Cyclocross Nationals and a third place finish at Mountain Bike Nationals to give them total of 72 points.
