ATLANTA --- The Lees-McRae College cycling team placed 14 riders in the top five and captured both men's team time trials at the Georgia Tech Road Bike Race this past weekend, including Cinthia Lehner's (Greer, S.C.) second individual win of the season in the women's "A" road race.
The Bobcats won both the men's "A" and "B" team time trials on Saturday, while the women placed second in the "A" race. Brian Sheedy (Rockford, Mich.) finished second in the men's road race on Saturday, followed by Nathan Larson (Erie, Pa.) in third. Jason Marshall (Stanley, N.C.) won the men's "B" race, while Trevor MacLean (Westport, Conn.) placed fourth. On the women's side, Rachel Warner (Luray, Va.) and Lehner placed second and third, respectively, in the "A" race, as Hannah Trimble (Spring, Texas) finished third in the "B" race.
Bradford Perley (Kennebunkport, Maine) led the way for the Bobcats in the Sunday road race, finishing first in the men's "A" race, as Peter Haile (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Sheedy placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Ezra Mullen (Nottingham, N.H.) finished second in the "B" race, followed by Spencer Oswald (Dubuque, Iowa) in fifth. Lehner won the women's "A" as Warner finished third. Trimble followed her third-place showing from Saturday by finishing second in Sunday's "B" race.
Lees-McRae is back in action on Mar. 26 and 27 at Clemson University's Collegiate Road Weekend in Clemson, S.C.
