ASHEVILLE, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae cycling team posted six individual race victories, including a pair of wins from Cinthia Lehner (Greer, S.C.), at the Mars Hill College road race weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
Brian Sheedy (Rockport, Mich.) opened the weekend for the Bobcats with a victory in the men's "A" road race, as Peter Haile (Fort Collins, Colo.), Jimmy Schurman (Miami, Fla.), Zac Felpel (Willow St., Pa.), and Sondre Thorbergsen (Tranoy, Norway) finished, third, fifth, seventh, and ninth, respectively. Lehner followed with a win in the women's "A" road race, as Jason Marshall (Stanley, N.C.), Ezra Mullen (Nottingham, N.H.), and Jordan Gillespie (Fries, Va.) swept the top three spots in the men's "B" race. Zachary Cummings (Duncan, S.C.) also won the men's "C" race to round out the day for the Bobcats on Saturday.
On Sunday, Haile and Sheedy led off the day for the Bobcats with a one-two finish in the men's "A" criterium, while Nathan Larson (Erie, Pa.) and Felpel placed fourth and seventh, respectively. Lehner then posted her second win of the weekend in the women's "A" criterium, before Marshall tallied a second-place finish in the men's "B" criterium.
Lees-McRae returns to action on April 9 and 10 at the Tornado Cycling Classic, hosted by King College (Tenn.) in Bristol, Tenn.
