CLEMSON, S.C. --- The Bobcats completed their regular season in mountain bike at the SECCC Conference Championship at Clemson University this past weekend, and rode away with another team omnium championship title in Division I.

The overall omnium title represents points earned in all events held by every category of rider throughout the entire season.  Lees-McRae overcame a surging second place effort by Brevard College and hard fought third by Georgia Tech.  "The conference title was our main goal going into the season, and everyone on our team played an important role in achieving it," said head coach Tim Hall.

At Clemson, the Bobcats won three races and compiled eight total podium placings.  Highlights include victories from Bradley Ramsey (Greensboro, N.C.) in the Men C Downhill, and two victories from Alec Hoover (Kingston, N.Y.) in the Men B short track and cross country.

Captain Matthew Clements (New Market, Md.) placed third in the Men A short track, and Hailey Sarausky (Littleton, N.H.) placed third in the downhill.  In the dual slalom, defending national champion Phil Kmetz (Keene, N.H.) placed third in Men A.

"This weekend was the most competitive weekend all season since every team attended and brought their whole squads.  Our objective was to maintain our lead, stay healthy, and sharpen up before nationals.  We succeeded on each item and look forward to doing our best at Snowshoe," said Hall.

The Bobcats secured four overall titles and 11 total podiums in the individual omnium for the entire season's efforts.  This success raises the team's success to 36 victories and 97 podiums on the season.  "I am impressed with our results, but we will continue to strive to become better going into next week and into the future," said assistant coach PJ Noto.
