2018-19 Season (Senior) - VanderZwaag participated in five events during his senior mountain bike season...Was part of a third-place relay team, notched his first career mountain bike win in the A short track race and he also finished second in the A cross-country race at King University (Tenn.) (Sept. 1-2)...Finished second in both the A cross-country event and the A short track event at Brevard (Sept. 8-9)...Took fourth in the A cross-country event, while finishing third in the A short track event at the High Country Collegiate MTB Challenge (Sept. 22-23)...Took third in the A short track event at Union College (Sept. 29-30)...Finished ninth in the cross-country event, ninth in the short track event and was part of a sixth-place relay team at Collegiate MTB Nationals (Oct. 19-21)...VanderZwaag also competed in six road races as a senior...Finished fifth in the A road race, while also taking fifth in the A criterium at Auburn (Feb. 23-24)...Was part of a fourth-place tam time trial effort, finished 14th in the A road race and also took ninth in the A criterium at Clemson (Mar. 23-24)...Won the day one A criterium, while also finishing third in the day two A criterium at King University (Tenn.) (Mar. 30-31)...Was part of a conference championship team time trial effort, finished 19th in the A road race and also finished eighth in the A criterium at the SECCC Road Championships (Apr. 6-7)...Finished second in the A road race, while also posting a runner-up finish in the A criterium at the High Country Collegiate Cycling Classic (Apr. 27-28)...Was part of a fourth-place team time trial effort, finished 12th in the road race and also finished fourth in the criterium to finish fifth in the individual omnium at Collegiate Road Nationals (May 10-12)...For his work in the classroom. he was named to the Conference Carolinas Fall Presidential Honor Roll.
