Brian Jorgensen named new Assistant Cycling Coach

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College's Head Cycling Coach Tim Hall announced the hiring of Brian Jorgensen as the program's new assistant coach Wednesday afternoon. Jorgensen, who will help coach both the men's and women's cycling teams, is a 2014 graduate of Lees-McRae.

"Brian is wonderful addition to our staff and offers a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge to our athletes," Hall said of Jorgensen.  "As a graduate of our program and former volunteer coach, he understands what it takes to lead others and compete at a high level.  I look forward to having Brian positively impact our athletes to help them reach their goals, on and off the bike."

Jorgensen brings more than 15 years of national-level racing experience in road, mountain and cyclocross disciplines to the Bobcat coaching staff. Since 2011, Jorgensen has served as a Youth Cycling Coach at the Bend Endurance Academy. Additionally, Jorgensen also was a volunteer assistant coach for LMC in the fall of 2014 and in the spring of 2015. 

Jorgensen is set to officially begin his duties on August 27.
