Cycling signs seventh recruit for 2020-21

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College cycling team announced the signing of Anthony Bowman (Avonmore, Pa.) to its recruiting class for the 2020-21 season on Monday afternoon. Bowman is the seventh recruit that Head Coach Tim Hall has signed during this recruiting cycle.

"I chose Lees-McRae because of cycling," said Bowman. "Also the opportunity to take cycling studies as a minor and business as a major to possibly work in the cycling industry in the future were major drawing points."

Bowman, who will compete in dual slalom and downhill at LMC, is a National Honors Society member and has a 3.7 grade point average in high school. He is also an avid volunteer at Kiski Prep where he worked at wildlife rehabilitation centers, senior citizen homes and trail work at local trail systems. He plans on continuing his volunteer work when he gets to the High Country by working on trails and other local cycling events.

Bowman intends on majoring in business with a minor in cycling studies when he comes to Banner Elk this fall.
