MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College Bobcats had four players in double figure points, but that wasn't enough as the Pfeiffer University Falcons defeated them 103-81 in Conference Carolinas action Thursday night.
Aaron Woodacre paced the Bobcats with 19 points. Kyle Boardman followed closely with 18 points and seven rebounds. Stephen Haymer chipped in with 13 points, and Sam Youse added 11.
The Falcons opened the game on a 13-3 run to give them a ten point lead with 15:45 showing on the clock in the half.
Five minutes later the lead was pushed to 14, 29-15, but Lees-McRae cut the lead to four, 30-26, on a Boardman field goal with 7:08 left.
Pfeiffer extended the lead back to 11, 51-40, heading into the intermission.
After the break, a Boardman three-point play trimmed the lead 55-50 with 17 minutes remaining.
But, the Falcons went on a 7-3 run to take a 65-53 lead and seal the game.
The lead reached its peak at the six minute mark with Pfeiffer taking a 93-65 lead and finished the game with a 22 point lead, 103-81.
Lees-McRae was 43 percent from the field and 46 percent from behind the arc, but Pfeiffer was a sizzling 50 percent from the floor.
The Pfeiffer bench outscored the Lees-McRae bench 62-25, and Pfeiffer had 45 points from behind the arc compared the Lees-McRae's 18 points.
The Bobcats return to action Saturday at 4 p.m. against St. Andrews.
