BELMONT, N.C. --- Sophomore Jonathan Honore dropped a game-high 20 points and senior Jacquise Moore was perfect from the field with 19 points while the Lees-McRae men's basketball throttled Belmont Abbey, 91-59, in a Conference Carolinas game Tuesday night at the Wheeler Center in Belmont, N.C.
The Bobcats (3-2, 1-1 CC) won by their largest margin since Nov. 20, 2010 (98-46 vs. Johnson & Wales) while knocking down 27 free throws and blocking seven shots. The Crusaders (0-5, 0-2) remain winless on the young season and turned the ball over 28 times.
Moore (Concord, N.C.) has tallied 17 points or more in three contests this season while Honore's (Baton Rouge, La.) 20-point performance was a season-high.
LMC's offense has scored at least 72 points in every contest this season and has amassed 174 points in the last two.
BAC's Ray Chen scored eight of the team's first 11 points while his three-pointer at the 12:57 mark made it 14-11 LMC.
Senior Raul Tutton (Memphis, Tenn.) drained a deep three with 4:27 remaining in the first half before the Bobcats used three free throws in the last 45 seconds to take a 40-33 lead into the intermission.
Coach Steve Hardin's squad went used 19-3 run and was assisted by an inpatient Crusader team to extend the lead to 61-39.
A trio of Moore made free throws and a Honore layup helped the lead balloon to 23 with eight minutes remaining.
Junior transfer Kendall Isler (Winder, Ga.) put a punctuation mark on the emphatic win with consecutive thunderous dunks in the final minute.
