BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Senior Jacquise Moore dropped a loud season-high 31 points and senior teammate Sean Deniton went off for 25 while the Lees-McRae men's basketball outlasted Pfeiffer, 111-101, in a triple overtime thriller in Conference Carolinas play Saturday afternoon at Williams Gymnasium in Banner Elk, N.C.
The Bobcats (9-7, 4-5 CC) scored over 100 points for the third consecutive contest while swiping their fourth straight win. The Falcons (6-8, 3-6) had five players score in double figures while AJ Clark paved the way with 30 points.
Neither team could get much breathing room while the game saw 17 ties and 13 lead changes.
LMC came out of the gates on a tear by grabbing a 16-6 lead after 6:09 of action.
Moore (Concord, N.C.) pumped the crowd up with two monster dunks before PU's Andrew Guerrero splashed a three to tie it at 20.
Sophomore Josh Gaither (Statesville, N.C.) started a three-point parade with triple at the 7:04 mark before Deniton (Durham, N.C.) hit two from behind the arc.
Sophomore Donte Falls (Shelby, N.C.) got in the mix with a three of his own while LMC stretched its lead to eight, 37-29.
Moore rocked the rim once again before a Deniton layup at the buzzer put the Bobcats up by 11, 45-34, at the intermission.
Clark scored five straight to cut the deficit to six, but LMC's Raul Tutton (Memphis, Tenn.) connected on a jumper moments later to keep it at six.
Tutton, who finished with 14 points, hit a three at the 7:08 mark.
Neither squad would lead by more than two the rest of regulation.
Falls provided heroics with a last second steal, forcing overtime.
Clark drained a three before a Josh Calhoun free throw gave PU the 80-77 advantage.
The Bobcats stood tall and Deniton sliced to the hoop for a game-tying layup with seven seconds on the clock while the defense clamped down to force the second OT.
Both teams exchanged threes before a trio of Deniton free throws put LMC up 91-88.
PU's Clark swooshed a three at the buzzer, propelling the game into the third extra period.
Moore and Tutton connected on crucial threes before sophomore Jonathan Honore (Baton Rouge, La.) iced the win with clutch free-throw shooting.
LMC outscored the Falcons 20-10 in the third overtime.
Gaither scored 10 points while the team knocked down 12 free throws in the overtime periods.
The Bobcats seek their fifth consecutive win when they welcome Erskine for a CC battle Monday, Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
