BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's basketball team hits the road Saturday to take on Erskine. The Bobcats (4-12, 3-5 CC) and Flying Fleet (6-10, 2-6 CC) are scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m.
Last Time Out – No. 23 Limestone connected on a buzzer-beating shot to down the Bobcats last Tuesday, 75-73. Donte Falls led LMC with a career-high 31 points to go along with eight rebounds. It marked the first 30-point performance by a Lees-McRae player since 2015 when Jacquise Moore also posted 31 points against Pfeiffer.
Senior Stats – Senior Darius Malbon is currently tied for the best career free throw percentage in program history (85.7 percent) with former Bobcat Lawrence Carter (1975-77). Fellow senior Jonathan Honore is closing on LMC's top 10 career assist list. Honore needs just 23 more helpers to move into the top 10.
Winning on the road – Lees-McRae dropped its first seven road games this season, but it has rebounded to win its last two at Southern Wesleyan and Mount Olive. The pair of victories were by a combined 31 points.
Conference Scoring – LMC is one of just five teams in the conference that has outscored its opponents in league games. The other four teams (Limestone, Barton, Pfeiffer and King) have combined to post a record of 30-8 against other Conference Carolinas opponents.
In the last meeting – Lees-McRae defeated Erskine by 18 points when the two teams matched up in Banner Elk last season, but the Flying Fleet edged the Bobcats 67-66 in Due West. LMC has won three of the last four matchups in the series.
