BELMONT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey edged the Lees-McRae College men's basketball team Friday evening, 78-73. The loss moves LMC's record to 5-14 overall and 4-7 in conference action.

Both teams posted runs in the opening half. The Crusaders started quickly scoring eight of the first 10 points, but the Bobcats rallied with a run of their own to go ahead at 17-16. After that point, which occurred at 12:57, the two teams went cold offensively going scoreless for over four minutes. After the cold spell, both Belmont Abbey and Lees-McRae traded leads for the remainder of the half. The Crusaders ended the frame with the lead at 33-32.

Lees-McRae connected on eight three-pointers in the second half. Keegan Crabtree hit a trio of those threes to pace the Bobcats. Unfortunately, the Crusaders were able to finish off the 78-73 victory to finish off the season sweep of Lees-McRae.

Rishad Felton and Jordan Turner both posted 13-point performances to lead LMC in scoring in Friday night. Donte Falls also finished in double figures with 12 points.

The Bobcats will look to get back into the win column Saturday night when they travel to Pfeiffer. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
