BELMONT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey edged the Lees-McRae College men's basketball team Friday evening, 78-73. The loss moves LMC's record to 5-14 overall and 4-7 in conference action.
Both teams posted runs in the opening half. The Crusaders started quickly scoring eight of the first 10 points, but the Bobcats rallied with a run of their own to go ahead at 17-16. After that point, which occurred at 12:57, the two teams went cold offensively going scoreless for over four minutes. After the cold spell, both Belmont Abbey and Lees-McRae traded leads for the remainder of the half. The Crusaders ended the frame with the lead at 33-32.

The Bobcats will look to get back into the win column Saturday night when they travel to Pfeiffer. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
