MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Behind a program record 21 three-pointers, the Pfeiffer University Falcons knocked off the Lees-McRae College men's basketball team by a score of 134-92 Saturday evening in Conference Carolinas action.
Lees-McRae and Pfeiffer played a back-and-forth first half until the Falcons went on an 18-7 run over the final four minutes of the frame to turn a 10-point lead into a 21-point lead going to halftime. Pfeiffer's attack included seven three-pointers and connected on 19 of its 22 attempts from the free throw line to take the double figure lead on LMC.
The Bobcats scored six more points in the second half than they did in the first, but they could not slow down the high-powered Falcons. Pfeiffer knocked down 14 three-pointers and scored 70 points total to finish off the victory. Additionally, six different Falcon players knocked down threes in the second half.
Six different Lees-McRae players finished with at least 10 points on Saturday. Jordan Turner paced all Bobcat scorers with 21 points, while Jonathan Honore finished with 13 points and Rishad Felton added 11. Additionally, the trio of Donte Falls, Lepreece Lynch and Zach Wilmoth all had at least 10 points and each had six rebounds.
The Bobcats will return home for a season-long five-game home stand beginning Wednesday when they host Erskine. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
