TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Despite leading for most of game, the Lees-McRae College men's basketball team dropped an 81-77 decision at North Greenville Saturday afternoon. The loss drops LMC's record to 8-18 overall and 7-11 in conference action.

Like mentioned earlier, the Bobcats led for most of the game. LMC gained the lead with 15:05 to go in the opening half and held the advantage until NGU scored as time expired in the first half to make it 43-41. Two major keys in the opening half were NGU's work on the glass and at the free throw line. NGU out-rebounded the Bobcats 21-8 in the half, which included an 8-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. As for the free throw line, the Crusaders went a perfect 18-for-18 in the first half to help them regain the lead at halftime.

Lees-McRae would get the lead back midway through the second half and extended it to as many as seven points, 70-63, with 6:28 to go in regulation. The Bobcats, however, did not score a point in the final 3:28 of the contest which allowed the Crusaders to not only tie the game but also seal the 81-77 victory.

Four different Bobcats finished in double figures Saturday. Jonathan Honore led all LMC scorers with 16 points and also picked up five steals. Avery Wallis was not far behind with a career-high 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field. Rishad Felton added 13 points and Darius Malbon rounded out the double-figure scorers for the Bobcats with 12 points of his own.

LMC will look to get back on track Tuesday when they travel to Barton. The Bobcats picked up a 91-85 win over the Bulldogs a week ago when the two teams played in Banner Elk. Tip-off for Tuesday's game is set for 7:30 p.m.
