HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's basketball team was picked to finish sixth in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches' Poll the league announced Wednesday afternoon. Seniors Donte Falls and Jordan Turner along with junior Kamil Williams were tabbed as players to watch for the Bobcats this season.
Limestone and Barton were picked to finish first in the poll with 75 points along with four first-place votes each. King (Tenn.) and Mount Olive rounded out the top four with point totals of 65 and 62, respectively. Additionally, UMO picked up the ninth first-place vote.
After Lees-McRae in the sixth spot, North Greenville (7th – 36 points), Erskine (8th – 34 points) and Southern Wesleyan (9th – 24 points) closed out the poll.
Lees-McRae will open its 2017-18 season Thursday night when it travels to Division I Georgia State for an exhibition contest at 7 p.m. The Bobcats will open their regular season a week from Friday when they host nationally-ranked Lincoln Memorial as a part of the Conference Carolinas/South Atlantic Conference Challenge.
