ASHEVILLE, N.C. – 19 turnovers by the Lees-McRae College men's basketball team helped UNC Asheville earn a 92-60 victory over the Bobcats in an exhibition contest Monday night at Kimmel Arena.
In addition to the turnovers, the Bobcats had a tough time stopping the Bulldogs once they got inside the paint. UNC Asheville totaled 52 of its 92 points in the contest inside the colored area on the court. The Bulldogs also totaled 20 second-chance points off of 15 offensive rebounds against Lees-McRae.
Jordan Turner and Juwan Blanton were the only Bobcat scorers who finished in double figures Monday. Turner led the way with 12 points, while Blanton chipped in 10 in just nine minutes of action. Freshman Quay Kimble also had a productive night for LMC leading the team in rebounds (6), assists (5) and steals (3), while scoring seven points.
The Bobcats will return to action this weekend to compete in the Newberry Invitational. LMC will begin the tournament by playing Virginia State at 5 p.m. on Friday.
