HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College men's basketball player Kamil Williams has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week the league office announced Tuesday morning. The player of the week honor is the first for LMC this season.
Williams put forth his best performance as a Bobcat Saturday night against Anderson. Williams scored a team-high 25 points in 22 minutes to help the Bobcats to a 105-99 win over the Trojans. The West Palm Beach, Florida native went 6-for-10 from the field and went a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line. He also picked up a rebound, an assist and a steal in the victory.
"Kam has really been working on getting better every day," said LMC Head Coach Steve Hardin. "I'm excited for his progress and thank you to the Conference Carolinas for his recognition."
Williams and the rest of the Bobcats will be back in action later today when they travel to Tigerville, S.C. to take on North Greenville. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
