KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With the start of the 2018-19 men's basketball season just a week away, the Lees-McRae College men's basketball team was recognized Tuesday by receiving votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Preseason Poll. Overall, the Bobcats collected 13 votes in the national poll, which was the most of any school from Conference Carolinas.
"We are honored to receive top 25 votes for the first time in school history," said LMC Head Coach Steve Hardin. "It is a true testament to the 10 seniors last year who laid the foundation for this program. The future is extremely bright here at Lees-McRae but there is a lot of work to be done."
The Bobcats will lift the lid on their 2018-19 season next Tuesday when they travel to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to take on Middle Tennessee State in an exhibition contest. LMC will open its regular season a few days after that when it takes on Columbus State Friday and Flagler Saturday in a pair of neutral site contests in Bristol, Tennessee.
