FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Lees-McRae College men's basketball player Quay Kimble was named to the All-Conference Carolinas Third Team earlier today at the league's banquet. It marks the second straight season that Kimble has been honored at the league's showcase event after being named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year last season.
The sophomore guard was a major part of the Bobcats this past season as he led the team in minutes played (890), three-pointers made (65), three-pointers attempted (155), three-point field goal percentage (41.9), assists (100) and steals (61). Additionally, Kimble's 61 steals and per game steal average (2.1) led the league.
Despite just wrapping up his sophomore season, Kimble has already etched his name in a few different places in the program's record book. The Shelby, North Carolina native is tied for tenth all-time with 117 three-pointers made, tenth in three-point field goal percentage (39.1), ninth in free throw percentage (79.2) and assists average (3.3).
Kimble figures to be an integral part of an experienced team returning for the Bobcats next season. In addition to Kimble, Lees-McRae is scheduled to return all but one player from the 2018-19 team.
