MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's basketball team fell at Mount Olive University on Saturday afternoon by a final score of, 105-90.
The Bobcats started the game on fire, quickly jumping out to a 7-0 lead and forcing a Mount Olive timeout. Following the stop in action, the Trojans climbed back into the game and made things a back-and-forth contest. The Bobcats were lead in the first half by Kamil Williams who poured in 21 points in the first 20 minutes. The pace of play continued to quicken, as did the points scored. Heading into the locker room, the score stood 53-47 in favor of the Trojans.
Mount Olive began the second half with increased energy and were able to grow the lead. Their fast start, combined with cold shooting from the Bobcats was ultimately the difference in the game. Lees-McRae was able to cut the deficit within striking distance several times but were not able to complete a comeback, falling on the road, 105-90.
The Bobcats will return to action next Wednesday when they face Emmanuel at home. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
