Lees-McRae connected on its first 13 shot attempts from the field, which included nine shots from beyond the arc. With the Bobcat offense clicking so well, North Greenville trailed by over 20 points at one juncture in the first half. However, the Crusaders were able to slow Lees-McRae's offense a bit and knock down some shots of their own to trim the deficit down to nine, 55-46, going into the halftime break.
North Greenville continued its comeback attempt in the beginning stages of the second half. NGU was able to close the gap to as little as two points with a little over 17 minutes to go. Lees-McRae promptly went on a 9-0 run to get its lead back to double figures. After building their lead to 15 points, the Bobcats saw the Crusaders come back again to get within two again with 8:51 remaining. Lees-McRae built yet another sizable lead but this time the Crusaders ran out of time as the Bobcats finished off the win, 102-89.
Quay Kimble led all scorers on Wednesday with 30 points on the night. Kimble, who went 10-for-12 from the field and 8-for-9 from three-point range, also dished out five assists in the victory. Kamil Williams added 17 points, while Sidney Dollar chipped in 11 points for his second straight game in double figures. The duo of Jerick Haynes and Andrew Gardner also provided a boost for the Bobcats off the bench finishing with 13 and 14 points, respectively.
