|Title:||Assistant Men's Basketball Coach|
Gordon Polsgrove brings over 35 years of coaching experience to the Bobcats basketball program, 18 of those years as head coach.
A native of Indiana, Polsgrove spent 23 years coaching in the public schools in South Bend, along with ten years in the Catholic School system. His experience ranges from junior high school, freshman, junior varsity, and varsity teams as well as five years on the sidelines at King College with son and current Bobcats Head Coach Scott. In 1998, while still coaching in Indiana, the elder Polsgrove was named Metro Coach of the Year.
Upon returning to the United States following his service in the military overseas, Polsgrove began a ten year stint working with Youth For Christ, a youth ministry in his home state. After a decade with YFC, Polsgrove taught History and Government for 31 years, before joining his son at King College.
“I have watched Scott grow up on and around the basketball court,” commented Polsgrove. “The opportunity to be on the sidelines with him now is such a blessing, and a great way to bring my own coaching career to a close.”
Polsgrove celebrated 52 years of marriage to his wife Judy this past summer and has three other children besides Scott, another boy and two girls. He is the proud grandfather of fourteen grandchildren.
