LMC put together its best season ever winning a program record 23 games on its way to a Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship and its first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lees-McRae College Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Mark Polsgrove was honored Tuesday by being named to 2017-18 Under Armour 30-under-30 list by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The list is geared towards recognizing a group of up-and-coming young coaches in men’s college basketball.
  • Lepreece Lynch named to NABC DII All-District Southeast Second Team

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lees-McRae College men’s basketball player Lepreece Lynch was recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) Friday by being named to Division II All-District Southeast Second Team. Lynch joins former teammate Austin Anderson as Bobcats that have earned All-District honors in the past three seasons.

    HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team’s magical season came to an end Saturday afternoon in Harrogate, Tennessee as the Bobcats fell by a final score of 90-69 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament to the seventh-ranked team in the nation Queens University of Charlotte. The loss wraps up LMC’s 2017-18 record at 23-9.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – After capturing the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship last Sunday at Williams Gymnasium, the Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team will head to Harrogate, Tennessee on Saturday to take on Queens University of Charlotte in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Tip-off for Saturday’s game is set for 2:30 p.m. from Tex Turner Arena.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Five members of the Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team were honored by Conference Carolinas this morning in Banner Elk with All-Conference recognitions. Lepreece Lynch earned a spot on the All-Conference Carolinas First Team, while Jordan Turner and Jason Saintizaire notched spots on the league’s third team. Quay Kimble took home Freshman of the Year honors, while Head Coach Steve Hardin won the Coach of the Year award.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team punched its ticket to the Conference Carolinas Championship game for the first time in program history Saturday afternoon with a 110-95 victory over Barton in the semifinal round of the Conference Carolinas men’s basketball tournament at Williams Gymnasium. The victory boosts Lees-McRae’s record to 22-8 overall on the 2017-18 campaign.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Fresh off its first postseason victory in program history, the Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team will check another first off the list this weekend as it will host the Conference Carolinas men’s basketball semifinals and finals at Williams Gymnasium. The semifinal round will take place Saturday with game one being between No. 8 Belmont Abbey against No. 5 Limestone at 2 p.m. before the second-ranked Bobcats take on No. 3 seed Barton at 4 p.m. The two winners will advance to Sunday’s championship game with the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament at stake. Tip-off for the championship game is set for 2 p.m.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s basketball kept its magical season rolling Tuesday night as the Bobcats knocked off seventh-seeded Erskine in the opening round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament. The win not only propels the Bobcats to the next round but also with King’s loss tonight against Belmont Abbey, it makes Lees-McRae the host for the semifinals and finals of the tournament this Saturday and Sunday.

  • 10 Lees-McRae Basketball Players named Academic All-Conference

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – 10 members of the Lees-McRae College basketball teams were named to the Academic All-Conference squads the league office announced Friday afternoon. The men’s squad had four players recognized in Marcus Anderson, Keegan Crabtree, Tyriq Royal and Zack Wilmoth, while the women’s team had six players honored in Mackenzie Blankenship, Taylor Fluette, Brea Forbes, Anna Hairgrove, Christa Tumminello and Jayne Yocum.
  • King edges Lees-McRae in final minutes, 102-98, to close out the regular season

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – In front of a sold out crowd at Williams Gymnasium, Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team made a valiant comeback Friday night against King University. LMC trailed by as many as 15 points to the Tornado in the second half before the Bobcats rallied to take the lead with 1:26 to go in regulation. Even with the impressive rally by Lees-McRae, King knocked down seven key free throws down the stretch to seal the 102-98 win over the Bobcats. LMC’s record for the regular season concludes at 20-8 overall and 13-5 in conference play.
  • Bobcats withstand late charge from Belmont Abbey to pick up 20th win of the season, 103-94

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team withstood a late charge from Belmont Abbey Tuesday night at Williams Gymnasium to pick up a 103-94 victory. The win is LMC’s 20th of the season and its eighth straight overall. It is the first ever time that the Bobcats have won 20 games in a single season in the history of the program.

The win is not only LMC’s seventh straight but it also boosts its record to 19-7 overall, and an 11-1 mark at home.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team had the magic touch from beyond the arc Saturday afternoon at Williams Gymnasium as the Bobcats connected on 19 three-pointers to knock off North Greenville, 94-61. The win is the sixth straight for Lees-McRae, and it moves the team’s record to 18-7 overall and 12-4 in conference play.
  • Bobcats break single-season wins record with a 93-79 triumph at Southern Wesleyan

    CENTRAL, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team picked up a historic 93-79 victory at Southern Wesleyan Tuesday night. The victory is LMC’s 17th of the season, which sets a new single-season win record for the program. Additionally, the victory also boosts Lees-McRae within a half game of league leader Mount Olive with three weeks remaining in the regular season.

Tuesday’s game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday’s game will begin at 4 p.m.

    DUE WEST, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team trailed for over 33 minutes in its game Saturday at Erskine. Despite trailing for over half the contest, the Bobcats found a way to rally and defeat the Flying Fleet, 67-64. The win pushes LMC’s record to 16-7 overall and 10-4 in league play. The 16 victories ties the program’s single season win record that was set in 2015-16.
  • 157 Lees-McRae student-athletes named to the 2017 Fall Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – 157 Lees-McRae College student-athletes were named to the 2017 Fall Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll on Thursday morning by the league office. Eight teams had 10 or more student-athletes honored with the men’s and women’s soccer squads leading the way with 19 and 18 honorees, respectively.

    BELMONT, N.C. – Trailing by as many as 18 points Wednesday night at Belmont Abbey, the Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team made a valiant effort to not only tie the score to force overtime but also defeat the Crusaders, 116-109. The win is LMC’s 15th of the season making its record 15-7 overall and 9-4 in league play.

The win boosts the Bobcats’ record to 14-7 overall and 8-4 in Conference Carolinas play.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The loyal fans of the Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team were treated to not one buzzer beater but two Friday night at Williams Gymnasium. First, Donte Falls connected on a three-pointer to send the game into overtime and then Lepreece Lynch drained a layup in the final second of overtime to lift the Bobcats to an 84-82 victory over Mount Olive. The win boosts LMC’s record to 13-7 overall and 7-4 in league play.

    FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Emmanuel (GA) College spoiled the Lees-McRae College men’s basketball team’s quest for its fifth straight win Tuesday night as the Lions knocked off the Bobcats, 91-78. The loss drops LMC to 12-7 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
