BOONE, N.C. --- Sophomore Ryan Harrison (Lake Mary, Fla.) made 21 saves to lead the Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team, as Lake Erie College outscored the Bobcats by a 9-0 margin in the first half en route to a 23-0 victory in non-conference play on Sunday afternoon at Watauga High School.
Lake Erie (3-0) outshot Lees-McRae (0-8) by a 25-7 margin in the first half, winning 20-of-27 face-offs on the afternoon while scooping up 72 ground balls and converting 19-of-24 clearing attempts. The Bobcats recorded 28 grounders and converted 14-of-18 clears while taking 14 shots, including eight on frame.
Harrison turned in another strong performance for the Green and Gold with 21 saves, including 13 stops between the second and third quarters. Dalton Lamb (Clemmons, N.C.) paced the Bobcats with four shots, including two on frame, as Britton Baker (Bluffton, S.C.) and Jarrod Brady (Kernersville, N.C.) each added three attempts at goal.
Jeff White (Middle Township, N.J.) chipped in a team-high seven ground balls, while Baker, Benjamin Shifflett (Clemmons, N.C.), Matt Hanes (Ballwin, Mo.), and Dillon Quinn (Greensboro, N.C.) each forced a pair of turnovers.
Trevor Tarte paced the Storm with six goals and two assists, as Reagan Harding added four strikes and two helpers. Joeyjohn French tallied two goals and a game-high six assists, while Bill Desiderio scooped up a contest-best eight ground balls.
Macgregor Johnston posted seven grounders, as French and Keegan Ball each added six ground balls. Tom Lipomi and Alexander Wisner combined for eight saves to record a shutout for the Storm.
Lees-McRae returns to action on Sunday, March 17 when the Bobcats host Ohio Valley University in non-conference play at 1 p.m.
