TIGERVILLE, S.C. --- Junior Dane Carney continued his impressive campaign with a six-goal effort while the Lees-McRae men's lacrosse team fell short in a high-scoring affair, 19-10, to North Greenville Wednesday afternoon in Conference Carolinas play at Pepsi Stadium in Tigerville, S.C.
The Crusaders (4-7, 2-2 CC) used 10 goals and six assists from the duo of Drew Warren and Chris Carpenter. The Bobcats (2-7, 0-3) outshot the opposition in the final three quarter while freshman Cameron Castle (Fort Collins, Colo.) amassed 11 saves in 47:44.
Freshman Alec Molander (Saanichton, British Columbia) put the Bobcats on the board only 27 seconds into the second quarter while Carney (Manchester, England) earned an assist.
With 4:23 left in the second, Tanner Jones (Comox Valley, British Columbia) notched a goal while Molander recorded his first of five assists.
LMC's defense held strong and allowed one goal in third quarter.
Carney netted a hat trick in the frame, all in the final 8:36, while Molander delivered all three assists.
Carney duplicated his success in the fourth with three more goals, including one in a man-up scenario while Jones earned the assist.
Junior Blaine Stottlar paced all players with 13 shots and registered a goal with 42 seconds remaining in the contest.
The Bobcats welcome Young Harris Saturday, April 2 at 12 p.m. to Tate Field.
