BREVARD, N.C. --- Alec Molander and Blaine Stottlar turned in hat tricks while the Lees-McRae men's lacrosse team dropped a 17-9 decision to Brevard at the Brevard Lacrosse Field Tuesday afternoon in Brevard, N.C.
The Tornados (2-11) committed 21 turnovers while Kyle Hunziker netted seven goals. The Bobcats (2-10) saw sophomore Jordan Lombardo (York, Pa.) make a season-high 13 saves in 35:08 of action.
Molander (Saanichton, British Columbia) and Stottlar (Clinton, N.Y.) staked LMC to an early 2-0 lead with unassisted goals in the first 9:06.
After BC tied it at two, Molander struck again with 1:37 remaining in the first quarter.
Trailing 4-3, Stottlar tallied a pair of goals. Junior Dane Carney (Manchester, England) earned the assist on the first one.
Carney scored a goal of his own moments later on a man-up advantage while junior Allan Smith (Honeoye, N.Y.) garnered an assist.
16 seconds later, Stottlar found the back of the net with 11:11 left in the second.
Parks delivered his second assist on a Carney goal with 4:43 remaining in the third.
Carney dealt Molander an assist on LMC's final goal in the fourth.
Stottlar led the Bobcats with 8 ground balls.
Senior Dillon Quinn (Greensboro, N.C.) won six face offs.
LMC hits the road for the last time of the regular season with a trip to Alabama-Huntsville Saturday, April 16 in Huntsville, Ala.
