Roberts Wesleyan spoils Lees-McRae’s home opener Sunday, 21-9

BANNER ELK, N.C.Blaine Stottlar and Alec Molander both totaled three goals and two assists in Sunday's home opener vs. Roberts Wesleyan, but the Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team fell to the Redhawks by a score of 21-9. LMC's record dips to 0-2 with the loss.

In addition to the performances by Stottlar and Molander, Dane Carney, Cole Wyatt and William Eagle all notched points on Sunday. Carney totaled a pair of goals and added an assist, while Wyatt scored his first goal of the season and Eagle notched his first collegiate point with an assist.

Sophomore Cameron Castle took the loss in net for the Bobcats Sunday after stopping 18 saves in 39 chances. With the loss, Castle's record drops to 0-2 on the season.

Lees-McRae will look to pick up its first victory of the season Tuesday when it travels to Montreat College. Tuesday's game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start time.
