Men’s Lacrosse hits the road to Montreat Tuesday

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team will look to pick up its first victory of the 2017 season Tuesday when it travels to take on Montreat College in a non-conference matchup. First faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. from Black Mountain, N.C.

Last Time Out – LMC dropped its home opener on Sunday at Tate Field to Roberts Wesleyan, 21-9. Alec Molander and Blaine Stottlar both posted three goals and two assists in the contest, while Dane Carney added a pair of goals and an assist.

Record Watch – With the pair of goals Sunday, Carney has tied the program record for career goals with 74. Additionally, Carney needs just 18 more points to hold the program record in points as well.

More Goals for Molander – Sophomore Alec Molander currently is tied for the team-lead with four goals this season. The Victoria, British Columbia native has scored at least one goal in 16 of his 17 career games as a Bobcat.

Scoring Consistency – Four Bobcats have scored at least one point in both games this season and they are: Molander, Stottlar, Carney and Wyatt Daziel. These four players account for 17 of the team's 19 points in 2017.

About the Opponent - Montreat, which competes at the NAIA level, holds a record of 1-2 on the season. The Cavaliers' lone win so far came via forfeit against Cleary University. MC's other two games were against SCAD Savannah and Keiser University where it lost by scores of 12-2 and 22-1, respectively.
