BOONE, N.C. – Five different Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse players tallied multiple points in a 14-11 victory for the Bobcats over Alabama-Huntsville at Watauga High School Saturday afternoon. The win bumps LMC's record up to 2-3 on the season.
Dane Carney (3g, 2a) and Tanner Jones (4g, 1) led LMC with five points each. The duo of Carney and Jones also accounted for three man-up goals in the contest helping the Bobcats go 3-for-4 in that category on the afternoon.
Freshman Wyatt Daziel notched his third straight multi-point performance with four points (2g, 2a) Saturday. Blaine Stottlar (3g) and Alec Molander (1g, 2a) rounded out the multi-point scorers for the Bobcats with three points each.
William Eagle was LMC's top player on face offs Saturday with six wins. Eagle also posted a team-high eight groundballs in the win. Defensively, Caleb Culverhouse paced the squad with four caused turnovers.
Cameron Castle made 13 saves in net for the Bobcats Saturday and picked up his second win of the season. With the victory Castle not only improved to 2-3 on the season, but also moves into a tie for the most wins in program history by a goalie with four.
LMC will make its second trip to Florida this season next week when it takes on Notre Dame de Namur in a neutral site contest in Davenport, Fla. next Friday. Faceoff is set for 5 p.m. for that matchup.
