ELKINS, W.V. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team dropped a 20-11 decision at Davis & Elkins Saturday afternoon. The loss moves LMC's record to 3-6 on the season and 2-4 in away contests.
The Senators jumped on the Bobcats early scoring six of the first seven goals of the game to stake themselves to an early 6-1 lead. Davis & Elkins added seven more in the second quarter and six more in the third to seal the win over LMC.
Dane Carney led Lees-McRae with seven points on Saturday with four goals and three assists. Alec Molander added five points with one goal and four assists and Wyatt Daziel notched his third hat trick of the season with three goals. Ryan Beauchamp, Allan Smith and Blaine Stottlar accounted for the rest of the scoring for LMC Saturday.
Cameron Castle took the loss after allowing 19 goals in 25 shots faced dropping his record to 3-6 on the season. Additionally, Stottlar and William Eagle shared the team-best mark with six ground balls in the contest.
Lees-McRae will return to action on April 5 when it hosts Conference Carolinas rival Belmont Abbey at Tate Field. That game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start time.
