Bobcats down Chowan Friday, 20-16, for their second straight win

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team picked up its second straight win Friday when it knocked off Chowan University in Conference Carolinas action, 20-16. LMC improves its record to 5-7 overall and 2-3 in league action with the victory.

Several Bobcats had standout offensive performances against the Hawks on Friday. The trio of Alec Molander, Blaine Stottlar, and Dane Carney combined for 16 of the team's 20 goals and eight of the 11 assists by LMC. Molander (3g, 6a) and Carney (7g, 2a) both finished with nine points against Chowan, while Stottlar scored a season-high six goals in the victory. Tanner Jones (2g, 2a) rounded out the multi-point performances for LMC in the contest.

For the second time this season, goalie Cameron Castle made 20 or more saves in a game as he finished with precisely 20 in 36 attempts Friday. The win moves Castle's record to 5-7 this season. Castle also finished with a team-high four groundballs.

LMC will look to pick up its third win in a row Monday when it hosts Coker College at Tate Field in its final non-conference tilt of the regular season. The faceoff is set for 3 p.m.
