Bobcats close out their regular season with three games this week

BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team will close out its 2017 regular season this week with three games at Tate Field. LMC will wrap up the non-conference portion of its schedule against Coker Monday at 3 p.m. before playing host to Belmont Abbey on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and North Greenville on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Last Time Out – The Bobcats picked up a 20-16 victory over Chowan last Friday on the road. The victory moves LMC's record to 5-7 overall and 2-5 in conference play. The five wins for Lees-McRae this season are the most in program history.

Back in the Postseason – With the win over the Hawks last week, the Bobcats have clinched a spot in the Conference Carolinas men's lacrosse tournament for just the second time in program history with the first time occurring in 2009.

Carney carving up defenses – Dane Carney, who became the program's all-time leading goal scorer earlier this season, currently tied for fourth in the conference with 36 goals this season. Carney scored a season-high seven goals in the win over the Hawks last Friday.

Series Rewind – Lees-McRae will look to notch three more program firsts this week as it has never defeated Coker, Belmont Abbey or North Greenville. Monday's game will be the first matchup against Coker since the 2013 season when the Cobras upended LMC, 18-3. Belmont Abbey and NGU both faced off against the Bobcats in 2016 and won by scores of 30-6 and 19-10, respectively.
