Fast Start leads North Greenville past the Bobcats Saturday, 20-8

BANNER ELK, N.C. – North Greenville University scored seven goals in the first 13 minutes of action Saturday at Tate Field on its way to a 20-8 victory over the Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team. The loss wraps up LMC's regular season record at 5-10 overall and 2-5 in conference play.

Senior Blaine Stottlar and Cole Wyatt paced the Bobcat attack Saturday with three goals each. Dane Carney accounted for the other two goals for Lees-McRae. Alec Molander assisted on two of the team's eight goals boosting his season total to 38. Tanner Jones, Sean Miggins and Tristan Hashemi also notched assists in the contest.

Cameron Castle took the loss in net for the Bobcats against NGU after stopping 16 Crusader shots on 36 attempts. Castle, who scooped up a team-high six ground balls in the game, saw his record dip to 5-10 with the loss.

Despite the loss to North Greenville, the Bobcats have earned a spot in the upcoming Conference Carolinas men's lacrosse tournament. LMC, which will be making its second ever appearance in the event, will be the No. 6 seed for the tournament. Lees-McRae's first round opponent will be No. 3 seed Mount Olive. The first round matchup will be played April 25 in Mount Olive, and a start time has not yet been announced.
