Alec Molander named to the All-Conference Carolinas Second Team

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse player Alec Molander (Victoria, British Columbia) was named to the All-Conference Carolinas Second Team Saturday morning by the league office. Molander is the first Bobcat to receive All-Conference honors since former goalkeeper Ryan Harrison also earned second team honors in 2013.

The Victoria, British Columbia native led the conference with 81 points in 2017 after scoring 43 goals and 38 assists. With the 38 assists on the season, Molander became the all-time program leader with 71 assists in his career in the Green & Gold. The sophomore attacker notched at least one point in every one of the team's 16 games in 2017. Among his standout performances were four five-goal performances against Brevard, Coker, Pfeiffer and Emmanuel (GA) along with a pair of six-assist outings versus Chowan and Coker.

Molander will be among the 16 players set to return for the Bobcats in 2018 as the team looks to build upon a record-breaking 2017 campaign where the team set a new program record for wins in a season with five.
