Men’s Lacrosse picked to finish sixth in Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches’ Poll

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team was picked to finish sixth in the Conference Carolinas Coaches' Poll the league announced Tuesday afternoon. Juniors Alec Molander and Cameron Castle along with senior Tanner Jones were selected as players to watch for LMC this spring.

Fresh off its best season in program history, the Bobcats will look to continue that upward trend in 2018 as LMC alum Brad Dunn takes over the reins of the program. Lees-McRae lost seniors Dane Carney and Blaine Stottlar to graduation after they scored a combined 114 points last season. However, Lees-McRae returns the trio of Molander, Castle and Jones. Molander landed a spot on the All-Conference Carolinas Second Team after leading the league in scoring with 81 points. Despite having two years of eligibility remaining, Castle already holds several goalkeeper records at LMC. Finally, Jones enjoyed a career year last season scoring 16 goals and adding seven assists.

Lees-McRae will lift the lid on its 2018 season on February 21st when they take on Montreat College on the road. The start time for that game is set for 5 p.m.
