BANNER ELK, N.C. – Under the direction of first-year Head Coach Brad Dunn, the Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team will open its 2018 season Wednesday when it travels to Montreat College. Wednesday's contest is scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m.
Preseason Prediction – Lees-McRae was picked to finish sixth in the Conference Carolinas Coaches' Poll the league announced last month. Juniors Alec Molander and Cameron Castle along with senior Tanner Jones were selected as players to watch for LMC this spring.
Back in Banner Elk – In addition to welcoming alum Brad Dunn as the program's new head coach, Lees-McRae has also brought back another alum to round out its coaching staff in Dustin Barrow. Barrow played for LMC from 2013-2016.
New Faces – The Bobcats will have several new players this spring. Overall, Lees-McRae has eight players from last year's team back in 2018, while welcoming eight new players into the fray.
About Montreat – The Cavaliers are currently 1-3 on the season. Montreat's lone win came on Feb. 15 at home against Peace College in overtime, 14-13.
Series Rewind – LMC knocked off the Cavaliers by a score of 20-6 last season. Molander paced the Bobcats in that victory with seven points after scoring five goals and adding two assists.
