No. 7 Limestone hands Lees-McRae its first loss of the season Wednesday, 21-8

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team fell in its first Conference Carolinas game of the season Wednesday night at No. 7 Limestone by a score of 21-8. LMC's record moves to 1-1 with the loss overall and 0-1 in league play.

Five different Bobcats tallied points against the nationally-ranked Saints and four of the five tallied multiple points. Senior Tanner Jones paced all LMC players with four points after scoring a goal and adding three assists. Alec Molander paced the goal-scoring efforts with three on the night, while freshmen Jonathan Barry and Craig Barr combined for three goals and one assist. Rounding out LMC's scoring was sophomore Ryan Beauchamp who scored a goal with an assist.

Cameron Castle took the loss in net for the Bobcats Wednesday after allowing 21 goals on 31 shots. Castle's 10 saves on the night marks the 26th time in his collegiate career that he has made 10 or more saves in a contest. The loss moves Castle's record to 1-1 on the season.

Lees-McRae will depart for spring break and when it returns it will have another road trip to another ranked team facing them. This time LMC will travel to Mount Olive, which is ranked No. 16 this week's national polls, for a 3 p.m. contest on March 17.
