Strong Second Half propels North Greenville past Lees-McRae, 19-9

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team held North Greenville to six goals in the first 30 minutes of Wednesday's Conference Carolinas contest, but the Crusaders rebounded to outscore LMC 13-6 in the second half on their way to a 19-9 victory over the Bobcats. The loss moves LMC's record to 1-3 on the season and 0-3 in league play.

Lees-McRae had good balance within its offense Wednesday with five different players registering points. The trio of Tanner Jones, Alec Molander and Jonathan Barry all scored three points on the day. Jones scored three of the team's nine goals, while Molander scored a pair with an assist, and Barry added a goal to go along with two assists. Freshman Craig Barr scored two goals, and rounding out the scoring was Ryan Beauchamp with a goal of his own.

Junior goalie Cameron Castle took the loss in goal for the Bobcats against NGU. Castle did make a season-high 15 saves on 34 opportunities on the day. Castle's record moves to 1-3 on the season with the loss.

The Bobcats will return to action Saturday when they host Chowan University in Boone, North Carolina at Watauga High School. First faceoff between the Bobcats and Hawks is set for 1 p.m.
