BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team fell to North Greenville University by a score of 19-4 Wednesday evening at Tate Field. The loss pushes Lees-McRae's record to 4-8 overall and 0-5 within Conference Carolinas play.
North Greenville used three early Bobcat penalties to fuel a trio of man-up goals within the game's first five minutes to gain the momentum. With that momentum in hand, NGU not only scored the first three goals of the tilt but also the first 10 on their way to a convincing 19-4 victory over Lees-McRae.
The four Bobcat goals came from four different players Wednesday. Jackson Galloway netted the team's first goal while the team was man-up in the second quarter. Ryan Beauchamp scored his 14th of the season in the third quarter and to finish things off Ethan Knight and Alec Molander scored in the fourth.
Senior Cameron Castle ended up taking the loss in goal for the Bobcats moving his record to 4-8. Castle did stop half of the shots he faced on the night accounting for 16 saves.
Lees-McRae will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts No. 7 Belmont Abbey in its final home game of the 2019 regular season. First face-off between the Bobcats and Crusaders is set for 2 p.m.
