MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse player Alec Molander was named to the All-Conference Carolinas Second Team at the league's banquet on Friday afternoon. Molander becomes the first Bobcat ever to be named to three All-Conference teams during their career.
In 2019, Molander was once again the heart of the Lees-McRae attack. The senior attackman led the team in goals (42), assists (34) and points (76). His 76 points ranked third among Conference Carolinas players in 2019.
Molander will graduate from Lees-McRae this spring owning several records all-time for the program. The Victoria, British Columbia native is the Bobcats' all-time leader in goals (150), assists (118), points (268), man-up goals (15), shots on goal (258), while ranking the top 10 all-time in shots (372), caused turnovers (29), ground balls (150) and games played (54).
In addition to his career marks, Molander will also leave Banner Elk with several single season and single game records to his name. The attackman owns the record for the most points in a single game (13) and in one season (81 – 2017).
