MARS HILL, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team fell in non-conference action at Mars Hill by a score of 20-13 Tuesday afternoon. Jackson Galloway led the Bobcats on Tuesday with five goals and four assists against the Lions.

Tuesday's contest began well for Mars Hill as it netted the first two goals of the game. After the Bobcats tied the score at two, they eventually built a three-goal advantage (10-7) with 1:26 to go in the second quarter following a man-up goal from Ryan Beauchamp. The Lions were able to trim the deficit back down to one before halftime with two quick goals. When the two teams returned for the second half, the Lions controlled the pace of play and outscored Lees-McRae 11-3 in the final two quarters to pull away for the 20-13 victory.

As mentioned earlier, the Bobcats were led by Galloway's nine points. The nine points from Galloway marked the fourth-most by any Bobcat in a single game in the history of the program. Ryan Beauchamp added three goals, while Mike Moore added four points on a pair of goals and assists. Craig Barr chipped in three points (1g, 2a) to round out the multi-point scorers for Lees-McRae.

Sophomore Jack Cruz made his first collegiate start in goal for the Bobcats on Tuesday. Cruz stopped 12 of the 32 shots on goal by the Lions.

Lees-McRae will return to action on Saturday when it visits Lander in another non-conference matchup. First face-off between the Bobcats and Bearcats is set for noon.
