  • Cheerleading, Men's Lacrosse Attend Banner Elk Elementary School's Fall Fling

    BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College cheerleading and men’s lacrosse team’s attended Banner Elk Elementary School’s Fall Fling last Friday (Sept. 21). The event was put on by the school’s PTO and included a live auction to raise money for the school.
  • Men’s Lacrosse claims Messick Sportsmanship award; Molander named Scholar Athlete of the Year

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse program received a pair of awards from the Conference Carolinas office on Friday afternoon. First, the program was the recipient of Messick award, which is given to the team exhibited the highest degree of sportsmanship by its players, coaches and fans during the regular season. On top of this honor, junior attackman Alec Molander was named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Lacrosse Scholar Athlete of the Year.
  • Men’s Lacrosse signs nine student-athletes for the 2019 season

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse team announced the signing of nine student-athletes Thursday afternoon for the 2019 season. The newest Bobcats include: Jack Callahan (Matthews, N.C.), Bryce James (Mebane, N.C.), Jack Cruz (Wilmington, N.C.), Matt Clary (Blythewood, S.C.), Jackson Galloway (Frederick, Md.), Grant Dickerson (Hardy, Va.), Pat Coyne (Columbia, S.C.), Cole Davidson (Fort Mill, S.C.) and Jake Leath (Indian Trail, N.C.).
  • Alec Molander lands spot on the All-Conference Carolinas Second Team

    TIGERVILLE, S.C. – For the second straight season, Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse player Alec Molander earned a spot on the All-Conference Carolinas Second Team at the league’s banquet Friday evening. Molander, who also landed a spot on the league’s second team in 2017, led the Bobcats in several offensive categories this season.
  • Bobcats fall in the opening round of the conference tournament to Belmont Abbey

    BELMONT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse team saw its 2018 season come to an end Tuesday afternoon in the opening round of the conference tournament at Belmont Abbey by a score of 26-9. The loss concludes LMC’s record at 2-7 on the season.
  • Five Lees-McRae Lacrosse players named to the Academic All-Conference teams

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College lacrosse programs had five student-athletes recognized by the league office Monday with Academic All-Conference honors. Alec Molander and Chris Lamay were the honorees from the men’s team, while Constance Madden, Sara Henderson and Tiffany Laster received the same honor from the women’s team.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Just a few days after the Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse team visited Belmont Abbey in its regular season finale, the Bobcats will head back to the home of the Crusaders on Tuesday to open play in the Conference Carolinas men’s lacrosse tournament. Tuesday’s game is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.

    BELMONT, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse team fell in its regular season finale at Belmont Abbey Saturday afternoon by a score of 25-4. The loss puts a wrap on LMC’s regular season record at 2-6 overall and 1-5 in conference action.

    HARTSVILLE, S.C. – In its final non-conference game of the regular season, the Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse team put together a hard fight at Coker College Saturday night. Despite the fight from the Bobcats, the Cobras came out on top in the contest, 13-10. The loss moves LMC’s record to 2-5 on the 2018 campaign.

  • Alec Molander named Conference Carolinas Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse player Alec Molander was named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week by the league office Monday morning. Molander is the first Bobcat to win the conference’s player of the week honor since Dane Carney earned the same accolade on March 7, 2016.
  • Bobcats pick up a 20-7 win over Emmanuel on Senior Day; Molander becomes program’s all-time leading scorer

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Junior attackman Alec Molander scored 10 points (7g, 3a) to help lead the Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse team to a 20-7 victory over Emmanuel on Senior Day Saturday at Tate Field. With his 10-point outing against the Lions, Molander is now the all-time leading scorer in LMC men’s lacrosse history with 179 points. Additionally, the victory pushes LMC’s record to 2-4 overall and 1-4 in league action in 2018.

    BOONE, N.C. – Chowan University scored six of the first seven goals Saturday afternoon at Watauga High School on its way to a 16-9 victory over the Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse team in Conference Carolinas action. The Bobcats move to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in conference play with the Saturday’s defeat.
  • Strong Second Half propels North Greenville past Lees-McRae, 19-9

    TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse team held North Greenville to six goals in the first 30 minutes of Wednesday’s Conference Carolinas contest, but the Crusaders rebounded to outscore LMC 13-6 in the second half on their way to a 19-9 victory over the Bobcats. The loss moves LMC’s record to 1-3 on the season and 0-3 in league play.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse team will compete in a pair of Conference Carolinas contests this week to close out the month of March. First, LMC will travel to take on North Greenville Wednesday at 4 p.m. After their matchup with the Crusaders, the Bobcats will host Chowan on Saturday at Watauga High School in Boone, North Carolina. Start time for that game is set for 1 p.m.

    BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men’s lacrosse team opened its 2018 schedule in exciting fashion Wednesday at Montreat College. Lees-McRae trailed by as many as five goals before rallying to tie the score at 13-13 with 1.4 seconds remaining and then netted the game-winner in overtime to give first-year head coach Brad Dunn a victory in his first game as coach of his alma mater.

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – 157 Lees-McRae College student-athletes were named to the 2017 Fall Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll on Thursday morning by the league office. Eight teams had 10 or more student-athletes honored with the men’s and women’s soccer squads leading the way with 19 and 18 honorees, respectively.

Juniors Alec Molander and Cameron Castle along with senior Tanner Jones were selected as players to watch for LMC this spring.
  • Lees-McRae hires alum Brad Dunn as next Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College’s Vice President of Athletics and Club Sports Craig McPhail announced the hiring of Brad Dunn as the school’s next Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Thursday. Dunn, who is a graduate of Lees-McRae, played lacrosse for the Bobcats from 2002-2006.
  • Dustin Barrow hired as new Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Former Lees-McRae men’s lacrosse player Dustin Barrow has been named the program’s new assistant coach Vice President of Athletics and Club Sports Craig McPhail announced Wednesday afternoon. Barrow, a 2016 graduate from Lees-McRae, played in 54 games for the Bobcats from 2013-2016 and scored three goals, tallied three assists and won 183 face-offs.
  • Darry Thornton resigns as Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College Vice President of Athletics and Club Sports Craig McPhail announced Friday that Darry Thornton has resigned his position as Head Men's Lacrosse Coach. Thornton has spent the past four seasons as the Head Coach for the Bobcats.
