Up Close & Personal with Anthony Mantegani

Banner Elk, NC--Join us today as we interview a midfielder from Hendersonville, TN. Freshman Anthony Mantegani has two assists to his name this season from his time out on the field.

1. What made you decide to come to Lees-McRae? My soccer coach got me interested, and I thought they had good academics and a strong soccer team.

2. How long have you been playing soccer? I have been playing for 15 years.

3. What are your personal goals for this season? I would like to contribute as much to the team as I can.

4. What's your favorite Bobcat memory here at Lees-McRae so far? Meeting all of the guys has been the best thing so far.

5. Who has been the most influential person on your athletic career? My travel coach, Eddie Carvachio

6. If you weren't playing soccer, what other sport would you play? I'd play football.

7. What is your major and what do you plan to do with your degree? Physical Therapy; I'd like to become a physical therapist and open my own clinic.

8. If you could travel back in time to any point in history, where would you go? I'd travel back to WWII.

9. What is your favorite book? Da Vinci Code

10. What is your favorite food? Pizza and tacos

11. If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be? I'd like to visit Milan, Italy.

12. What is one word that describes you and why? Do-it-big; More than one word, but it's the phrase my football team used because I do whatever it takes to get the job done.


Anthony's Story … I graduated from Pope John Paul II High School and got interested in LMC. Coach Whalley came to a couple of my travel games and asked me to visit. After my visit I loved the campus and team so decided to come here.
