THOMASVILLE, NC--Conference Carolinas announced that Berin Boracic has claimed this week's NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Player of the Week award. The award is the third time this season that the Orlando, FL native has been honored as the Conference Player of the Week.
Boracic regained the Conference Carolinas scoring lead this past week, scoring a pair of goals and adding an assist in two games. Against #13 Lander, Boracic assisted on the Bobcats opening goal in a 3-1 win, while scoring a pair, including his third game winning goal of the season, in a 3-2 conference win over rival Pfeiffer. The junior now leads Conference Carolinas with 34 points, one shy of his single season career high set last year. Boracic' 14 goals this season are also one shy of his single season career high after scoring 15 in 2006. He currently also leads Conference Carolinas in assists, tallying a career high seven so far this season.
The Bobcats have been ranked number two in the country for the
past three weeks and are chasing the first Conference Regular
Season Championship since 2001 posting a 7-1 record with two
conference games left to play (Mount Olive, Belmont Abbey). The
Bobcats stand at 13-1-1 overall and will match up with Chowan
College on the road in their season finale before the Conference
